As no one has offered any input in this drop I thought I would post a small review.
Drop was on time and delivery came without any hitches. The valet requires a really small amount of assembly. Obvious from the picture, it's cedar. Smells really "cedary" inside. The quality of the manufacture is about what you would expect at the MD price point .
The panels are all stabled together along with the foot pads. The lid stays in place as they have a dimpled piece of metal that prevents it from easily opening. All the cuts seem to be good on the wood. It doesn't need any after purchase sanding or anything. (Not true with all "naked" wood products.) The box is smaller than I had anticipated. Mainly because I didn't pay attention to the dimensions in the description. Everything mentioned in the kit fit, but for instance neutral Venetian LB (not included) it is too tall to store upright in it.
If you are looking for a valet with dovetails, and has a hand rubbed finished you'll have to look elsewhere or DIY. It is basically what I expected. All in all I would say it was worth the money just not very exciting. But then perhaps that is because I don't get all that exited spending the day caring for my shoes.

ChicagoWayGood review. I also concur with the statement regarding the size of the box. Expected it to be bigger (trying to consolidate all of my shoe care gear).
