There are people looking for 100% wool for many properties that it provides. Here are a few of my points. I like that this is a USA product. I don't like that they are calling these Civil War Blankets as Nylon was invented in 1935 (slightly deceptive to me) Woolrich Woolen Mill has great customer service (I have personal experience) They do market toward a more sophisticated customer. Upper middle class and the rich. Yuppies and the like. In my opinion they do not have a product that really serves the outdoorsman, camper, down-to-earth persons. Wool can retain it's warmth even when wet (up to 30% of its weight) Wool is fire resistant, so you don't have to worry about sitting by the fire and getting holes in your blanket. Wool is moisture wicking, breathable and regulates temperature very well. The more synthetics you add will reduce all the benefits that wool provides. Nylon will melt but the low percentage in this blanket may not be much of an issue by the fire (I can't say for sure because I don't own a blended blanket) Nylon does not shrink although you can buy wool that has been preshrunk. Adding synthetics to garments will help with the look and feel but I think is not needed in a blanket. If you just want a nice looking blanket for going on a picnic or draping over your couch in the winter time to be almost exclusively used indoors, then this product would be just fine for you. If you want a blanket for camping that will keep you warm in the outdoors then you will want a 100% wool blanket. If you purchase this product for the right purpose, I think you will be very happy with this product and will last you a long time.
