I got one of these a few years ago and it is an awesome tool. Although I use it with the guides to sharpen knives sometimes, I mostly use it without the guides to sharpen garden tools like axes, machetes, shovels and lawn mower blades -- using it as a hand-held mini-grinder/sharpener. It really works great at sharpening things with complex shapes that are nearly impossible to get on a grinder or bench sander like a shovel or hooked machete. However, I bought mine from Northern a few years back and it was on sale for $64.99, although that did NOT include the case and only had two angle guides. But, I am not sure why Massdrop is more expensive on this one.
