I enjoyed this as my first (really) little first into hot swappable macro pads and keyboards, but it doesn't really offer much. As to be expected from something so small, there's hardly any weight to it which is a problem if you use a stiff USB cable. No matter what I tried, the thing would invariably fall over on it's side if I ever merely bumped the cable.
The software worked fine for me, haven't had any of the problems the other people ran into, though perhaps I'm just lucky.
Might recommend, but with reservations.
This little guy is alright. But as a macropad, having only 2 keys, it's definitely more of a novelty than anything else. I'm sure there are use cases for this, but I'd much rather use a larger macropad than one with 2 keys. At this point, I am using it as display for 2 artisans. Also, I am not a fan of the software used to program it. Would rather have a macropad that you can use with QMK.
kingwongOh its fine, thanks for responding back. Just researched and found out that ANY keyboard that is "hot swappable" isn't capable of 1000hz. Keep that in mind :] (even if they are marketed as 1000hz, switches aren't soldered hence no 1000hz support).
Fair build quality, but firmware is severely limited with the hardware used. Also, use a slack cable instead of a more rigid one. It tends to roll over due to such a small base.
The more important issue for me was that the screw that holds both the PCB and the acrylic window to the metal housing didn't screw in to the hole, and after closer examination, the threading wasn't intact. After deciding to just not use the acrylic plate, the programming the software was a handful. It was difficult to make any sort of complex macro. The only reason I'm giving this two stars at all is that it was cheap, so my hopes weren't all too high.
