If this is based on the same software as the XD002, STAY AWAY from this one. By "macro pad", they mean you can only select from a list of predefined keys or key combinations, or you can save a text snippet for it to type in; you cannot program your own key combinations. The preset keys you can set are:
  • Any keyboard key
  • Standard media control functions
  • Power/Sleep/Wake buttons
  • Mouse buttons L/R/M/4/5
  • Ctrl+A/X/C/V
  • Turn LEDs on/off
  • Change layer
Again, you cannot program your own key combinations, making this of very limited use. If they're going to bother updating the firmware/software for this, that would be great, but it seems pretty unlikely. You're better off grabbing one of the other macro pads that pop up on this site.

duckfartsThis really needs to be part of the product description. I'm pretty disappointed by my XD002. This one just costs more. It looks the same as the other one and it being XD004, I'm pretty confident it's the same weak firmware.
duckfartsEveryone should listen to duckfarts. :-D Seriously though, the functionality of the XD002 was disappointing. I could be wrong, but I don't see anything new here except two additional buttons with the same limited programmability.

duckfartsUGH. I knew it. I would 100 be all over this, so long as we can configure macros how we want. weaaaaaak

moldyCheeseSeriously... What is a "Macro Pad" that can't use macros? This is exactly what I want but with Maco capabilities. Such a shame.
