Maybe you don’t need a full macro pad, or maybe the appeal of a tiny one is just too much to pass up. This mini four-key macro pad won’t make a big footprint on your desktop, but it can have a huge impact Read More

If this is based on the same software as the XD002, STAY AWAY from this one.
By "macro pad", they mean you can only select from a list of predefined keys or key combinations, or you can save a text snippet for it to type in; you cannot program your own key combinations.
The preset keys you can set are:
Any keyboard key
Standard media control functions
Power/Sleep/Wake buttons
Mouse buttons L/R/M/4/5
Ctrl+A/X/C/V
Turn LEDs on/off
Change layer
Again, you cannot program your own key combinations, making this of very limited use. If they're going to bother updating the firmware/software for this, that would be great, but it seems pretty unlikely. You're better off grabbing one of the other macro pads that pop up on this site.
duckfartsplease tell me how to program it at least for basic keys... TMK website has the button grayed and I can't proceed with the flash.
I followed every instruction available here and there
drunkenJNo, probably the same basic firmware as their XD002. You can't set your own key combinations for the macros and they're fairly basic. (no hold, double tap, etc.)
They’re programmable but not as easily as one can do that using QMK. You should read other comments how people are stuck with a product and no information how to flash/program it.
So, I received 2 of these from Massdrop yesterday - no keycaps, no instructions, just the case components (al and acrylic), screws, bumpons, and PCB.
After some digging (it comes out of the box as a 4-key keyboard with the keys L O V E preprogrammed - hardly a macro board), here's what I found:
Some good news: it runs TMK (ATMega16u2).... Bad news: I cannot find the full source of the firmware, and the thing must be configured and flashed via a customized instance of TKG (TMK Keymap Generator) webapp at http://https://xd.tkg.io . I can get the Keymap source, but the other source code specific to the hardware has not been made public. Without this code, true macros are not possible, as this specific TKG is quite limited. I'd love to at least be able to get the pin mappings for the matrix, leds, and ws2812 underglow array (so that I could spin up a version of QMK for it). Also worth mentioning, those looking for one of these can search for xiudi xd004 (kprepublic and aliexpress are carrying it at half the cost of what it was selling for here).
Massdrop: can we do anything to get the full TMK firmware source for this board from Xiudi?
i payed 30 + 30 for customs for this piece of S*** which is not working at all. I followed the steps that i got from kbrepublic after gotten a link here, how much effort is it to put a manual here... im very sad about this. How can i return it so i can get back my money ? I do not want a replacement cause customs will charge me 30 for it ...
That makes an even bigger difference than can be initially seen. The price of $16 is well inside the tax-free limit, so it is, e.g. $60 (30+30) vs. $16 for a European customer. Not to mention that sellers at AE will write whatever price you want on the shipping label.
brneorI mean, it's not a *huge* deal. It's four switches. But why it's being offered as standard and why we have to do the "are they/aren't they" again doesn't make sense to me when a switchless option is possible.
so other than the obvious failing on them sending us screws that are far too small, has anyone had any luck programming this POS following manufacturer instructions because mines a bust
