So right now I am using my Bose Companion 2 Series ii as a "headphone amplifier". When I plug the speakers into my computer, and then plug my headphones into my speakers it works as an amp. Can someone please compare the specs of this units amplifier to the speakers? I don't know what information to look for. Thank you so much

RuffleI have no idea what you're asking, but I'm going to assume you're asking if this DAC/Amp will work with your speakers, the answer is yes. It also works while the headphone is plugged in. The power switch and the volume knob is for the headphone jack.

the-goldfishI'm asking if plugging your headphones in to your speakers' 3.5 mm counts your speakers as being an "amplifier" and if it does which amplifier will be louder? My speakers or the amp?

RuffleNot really, and this amp.
My speakers can drive my K702s to a decent sound level, but at that point it sounds distorted. A proper amp can drive it to its proper potential.

PandaSPURThank you, I'm glad you know what I'm talking about. I've asked this question in so many different ways on Yahoo answers and for some reason nobody understands what I'm saying :) I got another question if you don't mind. I am totally new to this whole DAC thing. At first I thought you just plugged the thing into your computer and anything that came out was passed through the unit and converted. Now I noticed the sample rates and stuff. Basically, will I be able to use my DAC with Spotify music?

RuffleYea, Spotify should work fine. I dont have this DAC/Amp specifically but I use Spotify with my other equipment just fine.
Feel free to look around head-fi.org for more info and research, its a really helpful place. The bitrate and other technical details is just too much to explain here.
