I'd be up in arms if I paid for a DAC with dual Wolfson chips and instead got Cirrus Logic 4398. While not a horrible chip, it's cheap and you probably already have one either built into your PC sound (unless it's using Realtek) or on a sound card.

rslataraI think it's just a matter of preference. I did some digging and the CS4398 is in some high quality components just like Wolfson. Mainly, personally, I have several DACS and I want what the specs advertise so I can compare "house sounds" if that's even really a thing. My favorite DAC uses an ESS 9018. Sabre has two new products out above it, but I can't justify what would almost certainly be no audible difference in results.

BillqsI had a thing happened where the power seems to fade, not sure if it is because of the JJ tube I put in.

rslataraIt could be the tube. Do you have a spare? You can get some good deals on tubes for tube rolling.

Billqs18H Why it uses the Cirrus Logic, direct from xDuoo rep.
"Because the WM8740 cann't be decode DSD signal, So, we change to Cirrus Logic's DAC in new version, so, the TA-01 can support DSD128 now"
Have my Gold Lion tube will be testing tomorrow. The JJ I tried sounded better but was faulty.
