Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

I got that you recommend the Tesla ECC802S. How do those compare to say, a purely digital amp ? What other tubes have you tried and how do they compare ?
I am beginner on tube amp as well, I just research in google before I look for tubes, first I start with Brimar CV4003, than gold lion reissue 12ax7, then Tesla ECC802s, did also try some cheap tube like the one I mention on page 8 those no name chinese 12ax7, those has pretty good sound, but I still like the sound out of ECC802s, compare with Brimar CV4003, it is little louder, but Brimar has very good tone as well, just not as loud as the ECC802s.
12ax7 will give ta-01 more high gain, but I like the ECC802s, of course this is not the real deal, as I only paid US$80 for 2 tubes, and if is the real Telefunken ECC802s, we are talking about at least US$300 per tube, as being a beginner should start with copies which is best way to go. i suggest if you really in for tube amp, get 12ax7, 12au7 and then if you want more difference sound get 12ad7 that will give you lower than 12ax7 but higher than 12au7.
akg 533 pro is 32 ohm impedance, http://media.bestquestions.com/bestquestions/media/db/10881/k553pro_cutsheet.pdf any tube in ta-01 will able to drive. you just need to find the right tune come out from which tube you want.
once you have the tube search for hq test music on youtube and listen to them. and see that is sound you looking for. if not switch out to another and so on.

There's only one brand on Amazon of ECC802 tubes on Amazon, but I did find this Telefunken 12AU7 listing:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SS19JNC
It's not much more than what you paid for the Teslas per unit, have you considered that ?
For now, I think I'll give this Mullard 12AU7 a try for about $20:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00UDUXCJ8
ECC802s: This is a premium version of the European ECC82, with matched triode sections. These are very rare in the USA, and often common in very high prices.
ebay search for Telefunken ecc802s, you will be surprise for the price there. http://www.ebay.com/bhp/telefunken-ecc802s "NOS" = New Old Stock, "NIB" New In Box. you can get used tube, but how much longer for the life in the tube, you will need to gamble.
check these web and read all setting for each number of the tube. http://www.audiotubes.com/12au7.htm http://www.vacuumtubes.com/12au7.html https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_vacuum_tubes < more detail but you will spend hours for all numbers. look up ecc section for ecc82, ecc83, ecc802s, also 6211, 6189, and 12ax7, those is common number for 12au7.
if you want the Teslas ECC802s white letter like the one I got. http://www.ebay.com/itm/201372269823 that is good deal for 2 there. if you miss that, here is another little more in price. http://www.ebay.com/itm/161548811446 but will take a while for ship to you, I still can't figure out the white letter and the yellow letter means. edit: yellow letter means GOLD GRID version. they will cost more.
Anyway Best of Luck, I can only help you this far, down on the road is on your own hand. :) just remember you get what you paid for. that never lies.
PS, Research, Research. Research. is your money and you should take time to do homework for item you spend money on.
