Sound is great, and with a nice quality tube, these would be even better. The build quality on the other hand... Not so great. I've had mine since the previous drop in late 2014, and it took about 4 months for the connections where the headphone jack and the USB plug into to start loosing connection. The USB has to be wiggled around for a little bit until it will output sound out of both left and right track. Often the sound will cut out of the left or right track randomly and I have to wiggle the connections. It's annoying, but I won't stop using them until it's completely dead.
Sounds like you had a defective model
Worked fine for several months. No way of knowing that it was defective until the time it started acting weird. That's not defective. It would be defective if it came that way from the vendor. Something going wrong from general usage isn't defective, that's just poor build quality to me.
So do you take it from computer to computer or switch it to a phone or tablet regularly? Like plugging and unplugging it multiple times a week or was this just plugged in standard desktop use?
