Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 6XX Headphones
Product Description
The xDuoo TA03S Tube Headphone Amplifier is a little tube-supported powerhouse, perfect for pushing your high-end headphones to sing with warmth and detail. The XMOS U8 processor drives the unit with plenty of headroom for processing, which is good because there are two separate CS4398 DAC chips supporting up to 32-bit, 192-kilohertz decoding Read More
Ok I found a transformer (400w) and didn't have any problem with it. However there is a slight hum noise when music is not playing. It doesn't go away when I touch the amp. Does anyone have similar noise? Is it normal since this is an otl tube amp and all. I love the sound so far btw.
Well Drop certainly know how to rub salt in your wounds. They are offering free shipping on products they sell this month. I waited from November 5th 2022 and my parcel arrived on the 28th January 2023. All caused by apparent outages , which were out of Drops control. I have been offered nothing in way of compensation for the debacle. Shame on you Drop.!!
Hello everybody :-) , like some guys here i received my baby with a stick on it "AC IN 110v" but here in france we use 220V , as i saw it here it seems that there is not two different models, so do you think i can use it (with the EU plug of course) ?? many thanks for your answers , Sly .
sly44Drop sent me this 110V tube amp knowing it was destined for Australia (240 volt). The site did not identify it as 110V.
<snip> you Drop. Money grubbing and incompetent.

sly44I received mine today and came to ask this. Anyway drop only said it would come with us plug and from what I've gathered I should be fine as long as I changed the cord. Apperantly not... We are scammed. Is it possible to change the input voltage from inside instead of using a voltage transformer?
Anybody else getting a good hum out of this thing when no audio is playing? Frankly, you can here it during quite passages of a recording as well. If you turn the amp on, from a cold start, it takes 10 to 12 seconds for the hum to start. The hum seems to be the same volume in both channels. It doesn't matter if it is connected to my computer via USB or not. I'm using the Sennheiser HD6XX headphones. Other than the hum, the amp and DAC/amp combo sound fine!
Hoping you experienced audio/tube guys might have some suggestions.
netmorinI have come to ask the same question, mine also hums when I pause etc. It isn't that annoying but I wanted to know if it is normal or something is wrong with my unit. Also I'm not sure if the noise stops when music is played but definitely masked because I don't notice anything.
if you are missing little bass with the amp, go to the Microsoft store and download DTS Sound Unbound that will fix the missing bass, and make this much much better https://i.imgur.com/ygdIGPV.png, I also replace the 12AU7 that comes with the unit to Tesla ECC802s
Hi I purchased this tube dac/amp from drop this is 110v unit and I am from India so I need a transformer so please tell me how much wattages this unit consumes and I am new to tube dac/amp so please tell me how can I fix tubes on dac/amp
Thanks
I thought these were supposed to ship around Dec 15th? I think there were two original listings, one shipping Dec 15th and another on Dec 22nd. I hadn't received any updates and now this listing is showing February 23'.
Is there someone who can answear what is the power supply voltage that this unit uses? Is it 115 volts ? Is it 230 volts ? Is it universal ( both 115-230 volts) ? What is it ?
In the Xduoo website for this product is written that with the different cables, witch wich the unit comes, a specific voltage is associated.
US plug = 110 volts power supply unit
UK Plug = 230 volts power supply unit
EU plug = 230 volts power supply unit
AU plug = 240 volts power supply unit
In the product notes its written that the TA-03S unit will ship only with US plug. I guess that means the uniw will be equiped with 110 volts power supply
bloodpigFrom everything I've seen, the only difference is the power cord. All references I've seen talk 100v-240v, and as there are no external switches, likely autosense. YMMV, but my unit (and frankly the whole drop batch I was part of) was kitted out for 230v, but works just fine on US 115v.
