Take Your Tube Listening to the Next Level

Upgrading the well-regarded TA-10 with an all-new chipset and extra inputs, xDuoo has unveiled the TA-10R: a vintage-sounding tube amp with ultra-modern DAC performance. A cutting-edge AK4493 DAC chip and XMOS XU208 USB chip deliver 24-bit, 384-kilohertz PCM decoding; 32-bit, 384-kilohertz DXD decoding; and DSD decoding up to DSD256. This resolution far surpasses the quality of MP3 formats, ensuring exceptional audio fidelity before amplification. At the amp stage, a single vacuum tube gives the TA-10R a signature warm sound that can be customized with a simple tube swap. For flexible connectivity, the TA-10R features optical, coaxial, RCA, and USB inputs, as well as SPDIF, RCA, balanced XLR, and 3.5-millimeter inputs. With a maximum power output of 2,000 milliwatts, it can take on a wide range of headphones and speakers.

Note: This product is rated for 110V only. All units ship with US plug.

Question
I bought the HDP6 passive speakers from AudioEngine here on Drop thinking it'd make a good pair with this amp... but when hook it up it seems to play SO quietly. I can hear the hint of music if I turn this up to 100 volume and press my ear against the speaker. Is it not powerful enough to run a speaker that requires 10–150W per channel?

I'm not a huge audiophile but I'd want to replace my Scarlett solo with this. Would it run a 250ohm pair of headphones and a mic that needs 48v?

The 'phones should be driven perfectly, but I don't believe this dac/amp has a microphone input or phantom power. You would want an interface or mixer like your Scarlett. I own and would suggest a...Read More
