From what I'd read about these screenless players you don't need much more memory in there. Without the screen it's impossible to navigate large files database. You drop a couple of music folders from computer or phone before leaving home and you are ready to go. Rinse and repeat next time. This is hi-end player with hi-end build and design, a fashion statement like Zippo or Davidoff lighters. There are two parallel Wolfson wm8740 DAC circuits inside with buffered op-amp outputs. I don't know about this particular player, but people who heard Shozy Alien (a similar design) said it leaves Fiio X5 in the dust by its sound quality. I'd be happy to try xDuoo X1 when/if the price drops...

That would be super cool if it had expandable storage; I mean this could hold one artist in my collection.

Not sure why you would get this when you can get the FiiO X1 for not much more, and that has expandable memory and comes from a well-known company (in the headphone world, anyways) with a pretty damn good reputation for good products for a modest price.

I use daily at work with my SoundMAGIC HP100 and it works great. I had an HRT Microstreamer before that and it had all kinds of issues. No issues with the D3 so far.

That definitely works too. Either way, this XDuoo X1 doesn't seem like it's a very reasonable purchase.
What a strange design, no navigation screen (oh, no navigation!!) and way too little space for uncompressed audio. It's like a crippleware player feature wise........and the Head-Fi review seems to say that as well between the lines. It is interesting that there is no mention of the Fiio X1 which I would have assumed would be a natural player to compare this with.

8 gigs of space without expandable memory is kinda a fail for an audiophile targeted player...

Yeah I'll put about 5 artists on there and it's full. Assuming all 8GB can be used for music.

Don't see any reason to get this over something like a Sansa Clip Zip.

But the clip cannot drive anything above very easy-to-drive headphones.
The deal breaker for me is the lack of a shuffle and folder navigation. Also '3 seconds' to skip a track?? More Internal storage is then, of no use.
That step-attenuator is smexy though :)

A Fiio E11 amp is cheap enough to add to the Clip and still come in under the price of this thing. I think I paid $20 for my Clip on sale and $16 for my used E11.

Not much else known. Interesting design, however.

Looks a bit like a taser, I don't want to risk it with TSA.
