Does this have built in bluetooth? I know there has been some debate if this supports Bluetooth, but I cannot find a solid answer.

Does anyone have pictures of what the PCB looks like? They mention rolling opamps but can't see what can fit in there.

The Burson V5i is probably as big as you could go when it comes to swappable Op-Amps

Thanks though. Was hoping to see an inside look of the PCB to see what you can put in. Already have the Xduoo xd-05 plus, but was just wondering what dimensions of opamps it could fit. (Was hoping to fit a Sparkos Lab opamps)

interesting that the product page https://www.xduoo.net/product/xd05-basic/ has no mention of bluetooth, but it appears in the overview image https://www.xduoo.net/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/xd05-basic-detail-2.jpg .. the good news, if you need HQ bluetooth, they have the https://www.xduoo.net/product/xp-2-pro/ at the same price point. and it supports "Bluetooth 5.0, support AAC, SBC, aptX, aptX LL, aptx DH, LDAC"

Aptx HD and LDAC might be something to pick the XP2 PRO, but the inputs, the dac and the battery switch on the XD 05 Basic are doing it for me.

Wait so whats different about this from the XD-05 Plus other than that this is cheaper and with bluetooth built in?

Difference are noted as follows from the Plus to the Basic:
  • Battery downgraded from 5000mAh to 4000mAh
  • Output Power: 1000mW down to 500mW (i.e. Can only support headphones from 600ohm down to 300ohm. However their marketing/shop page makes it confusing vs. the manual)
  • Weight: 276g to 268g (honestly looks barely noticeable)
  • Boost signal replaced with Input Signal switches (thank god it's easier to select input this way)
  • DAC Chip: Downgraded from AK4493 to AK4490
  • Built in Bluetooth as mentioned
  • Includes a Battery switch to change from internal to external power source (so maybe as to not constantly drain/use the battery?)

It’s basically a re-skinned original XD-05.

It supports bluetooth but there is no mention of what codecs it supports. That would be nice to know.
I kinda think it doesn't actually support Bluetooth, here's xDuoo's official page with no mention of it: https://www.xduoo.net/product/xd05-basic/

Yes, I see what you mean. Looks like Drop needs to fix their specs by removing the two lines about Bluetooth: Input: USB-C, Optical, Coaxial, Bluetooth Bluetooth version: 5.0 I supposed another possibility would be for them to offer the bluetooth add-on adapter as an option and then they could list it's specs separately.

Uhm...Picture of the BACK for the ports? Why would you not put a picture of the back of the machine with the ports?

There is mini toslink. The left side is mini toslink which is round. The port takes coaxial and optical (mini toslink)

Toslink also comes in a "mini-toslink" which looks similar to a 3.5mm jack/cord. It's the same on my Plus version. Here's a pic of an adapter

So this is the original, but instead of the Bluetooth being an adapter that goes on the end and inserts to the digital port, it’s now integrated. that’s kind of annoying that they didn’t just do that originally for the Xd05 and the xd05 plus.

They have an upgraded 05 plus coming in. XD05+ or something. Check their insta page. If you do want to buy keep that in mind as well. It's a complete redesign. I think it'll also have balanced 4.4 on top of these new features. Not sure about bluetooth though.

That would make it worth purchasing I believe.
