Hi all, change in specifications for this product. According to our vendor, the XD-05 Basic now ships with a ESS ES9018K2M DAC instead of a AK4490 DAC.

It appears we are seeing an endless flow of retread product that have shifted from AKM to ESS due to AKM's fire. At least this one doesn't have the ubiquitous 9038, but I think the 9018 is an inferior DAC. I'd like to see more TI/Burr-Brown or Analog Devices so we can have a more varied offering.

Ordered from the manufacturers website for the same price. What's the point of drop again?
Edit: Took 8 business days for xduoo to deliver to Canada.

Excelent dac/amp. Remember this doesnt come with bluetooth. There is an adapter out there for the money.
On windows and mac you need to install the driver in order to use it. Remember, this is a transportable dac/amp combo. It is big for carrying in your pocket.
Maybe you can find the same unit on Amazon with faster delivery options than Drop.

Ordered from Linsoul days before this was available on drop of course. Good thing it was the same price and free express shipping to Canada. Received in under a week. I guess drop is useful for the reviews 🤷♂️

CdixYeah I don't understand why people would buy from Drop if they aren't offering a sizeable discount for products and having to wait so long. Just spend the few extra bucks and have a product in hand sooner.

Described as an amp(lifier.) It appears to be a headphone amp/preamp. 500 mW is like an old school transistor radio, not an integrated amplifier. Normally in product literature devices like this are described as headphone amps.

It's easy to tell what kind of device it is. I'd just rather that it were labeled as the kind of device it is. I know, it makes an audio signal stronger. Technically it's an amplifier. It's still like opening a package labeled "cheese" and finding it contains a paste made of flour and water. Both are foodstuffs but they're not the same.
