I've owned this for some time, picking it up the first time it was on Massdrop. After a few months I did the Burson opamp upgrade, and am very happy with it,either as a DAC running into my normal stereo, or feeding headphones direct. Have just started exploring Tidal, and how the hell do I get Tidal outputted to the xduoo? My phone is okay, but nothing brilliant as an audio player, and I'd love to get Tidal stream straight to the xduoo and then to my premium headphones or stereo.. Any ideas? I've searched the net without finding an answer. mQA at this stage doesn't interest me.
earlgrey77It's android, and I've discovered that Tidal and Spotify do in fact play to the DAC, but other music players on he phone won't. Odd, it seems to be rather hit or miss, some will, others won't.
hal55You need an OTG (on-the-go) cable if it's android. I have the XDuoo XD-05 connected to my S7 Edge with Tidal HiFi service and it's great! Set the input on the XDuoo to the middle channel. I can't wait to do the Burson v5i upgrade in two weeks when the chip arrives.
edit: a sentence
hal55You can purchase the Bluetooth adapter, which connects to the optical port on the back of the xd-05. From my experience is does the exact same quality as the usb cable. It just makes it easier to handle rather than having the xd05 brick directly connected to your phone. I upgraded the opamp chip as well and it sounds fantastic. I recommend looking up the Z review of Bluetooth Dac/amp review.
