I have a Magni at work but no DAC and want one with BT. Would this serve that function? Can I use it as a DAC to feed my Magni via the AUX out, or is that a bad idea for some reason?

Can it power hd6xx??

The HD6xx needs about 17mw (maybe a few more for peaks but not much more) to render 110db under 300 ohms. All you really need is 2Vrms. YMMV but then you should be careful with your mileage... with your ears that is...

The upper limit is to accomodate for transient bursts. It can actually go as high as 120 dB for very detailed music so you must take that into account when calculating headroom. I listen normally around 80 dB so I always set my ceiling for 110 dB+ (I'd rather be covered than not, just in case). Not to mention, the huge impedance swings of the 6XX family and the fact they love gobs of voltage. An LG V30 outputs 2Vrms and it is not capable of pushing the 6XX as intended. Ask me how I know that. I've listened to the 6XX balanced out of some very powerful amps (iFi iCAN, THX 789, etc) and that additional power makes a world of difference. So while you may push them to a reasonably loud volume, you're not providing enough voltage to the drivers to push them with authority and wake the 6XX up. I'd rather err on the side of caution and not have folks waste coins on a device that isn't made for high impedance headphones and push them towards a unit that can.

We will see how it works. Watched a lot of reviews, with prices around 200. This came close to all of them but cheaper. So i gambled and bought this.

Hi all,
This product really peaked my interest but i'm struggling to find any reviews etc. I can see some people have shared their thoughts below, but I wonder if anyone else could comment on sound quality etc?
Essentially i'm looking for a mobile solution preferably that has Bluetooth functionality . I'll be using with both Apple and Android (Samsung S8). My search so far led me to Ifi XDSD and Fiio Q5. Obviously both of these are much more expensive. But I'm intrigued as to whether this product could get close in terms of SQ & functionality?
Any thoughts would be welcome.
Thanks!

I currently use the AT-PHA50BT for the same use case you describe above. I find it able to drive all my phones (Grado, Audeze, HE-4xx) with no issues. Great sound, great battery life, great portability.

Can anyone tell which cables come with this? I can't really tell from the photos. Also, anyone know where to find a lightning to micro usb cable? I want to use this with an iPhone and would like to avoid the lightning to usb adapter. Thanks in advance for the input.

My guess is no considering that they don’t list iOS devices as supported. MFi certification is rare at this price point. 3.5mm or BT will be your only option until MFi cables are available on the open market. I am still buying it for the BT connection.

Well, dang. It doesn't work with USB output from my old phone that I store all of my high resolution files on (newer one doesn't have SD card slot because Apple)... According to the user manual, it can only be because my phone doesn't support USB OTG function, which seems odd since I've been using it to drive a desktop DAC for years using OTG support. Not sure what's going on there. Anyone else having trouble?
I went through this trouble a few months ago looking for a solution to buying a portable music setup. Long story short, if you are running android pre-5.1 you are going to run in to issues. If you want more details let me know, otherwise just know you are in for a headache.
