Excellent quality, the right size and plenty of power with Bluetooth connectivity.
It’s nice to have options. This DAC is awesome in every way, each pair of IEMs I own sound spectacular. This was a great investment for great sound and portability. It has excellent battery life for portable use and a usb C connection one for charging the other for connectivity. Bluetooth connectivity is simple it will pair wit any compatible device (computer, tablet, or mobile device). This DAC has plenty of features that should satisfy most. Bring it Back I want to purchase a second unit Please.
GAVE more then enough to run some AKG studio closed back head phones. Run on blue tooth and a pair of THIEAUDIO LEGACY 3 IEM. This mini dack gives more then enough output. Its scary powerfully. I worry about blowing my IEMs.
THIS dack is strong!
Long term review, I've had a great experience with it, paired with an iphone using Roon. Sound has been excellent (make sure you're in the right input mode though), feels solid, but after a little while, the battery appears to have come unglued, and is moving in the case. Nothing affecting functionality, but something I worry about down the line, if the connector is being strained. I can't open it to determine if this is happening, unfortunately.
Arrius07So, the "No hassles guarantee" is completely false?! This is important for future ordering. No electronics from Drop in my future if this is the case.
RugerI haven't bothered contacting them about it; it works fine, plus I don't think their warranty covers products like this, just the manufacturer's warranty.
There is very significant noise on the headphone output when the volume knob is between about 12:00 and 3:00 (where it will be most of the time). It's present for all of the inputs (it's actually worse for the line in), and it's present even if there is no active playback. I've tried different headphones, and the noise is present for all of them. The noise is not present for the line out. It's possible that I just received a bad unit, which might speak to quality control issues rather than general functionality issues. Regardless, the one I have is only really usable as a portable DAC with Bluetooth and not as a headphone amp.
Cofresi55No, I never got around to returning it. The noise in my unit is very noticeable, though, and I don't see any other reviews mentioning the same issue, so I think it's likely to be an isolated problem.
Works okay with my headphones. However I found a weird design problem with this. If you hold one of the corners, the bluetooth / audio completely shuts off. So I think it have an antenna placement problem. Almost like that whole iphone issue way back in the day.
Take your nice headphones with you on the go or use them with your jackless phone
I use this at work, mainly. We're hotdesked at the moment waiting for our new space to open so we don't have permanent desk assignments. I alternate using it with my S21 or with my work Mac. The S21 supports LDAC and the Mac uses AAC. This device works well to drive my 250 ohm DT770s. And it works great with my IEMs. Solid device.
This sounds really nice with a variety of my headphones and earbuds. The connectivity options are great for my phone and laptop. However, it's disappointing to have about 8-9ft (2.5m) of range with the bluetooth no matter what device I use. Even my cheap bluetooth headphones will give me about 25ft with my laptop, through a closed door.
