Things have changed since the last post that was made in 2016. Does anybody really buy this kind of amp anymore?

androidknee55Never thought I would need something... now I need a very inexpensive, very portable amp ( don't care about DAC ) to amplify my iPhone to the speakers in my motorcycle helmet. Need good amount of gain.

Just about there! We've been in touch with the vendor regarding the group's order and they've let us know that they are still working to gather and pack the group's order for shipment to our warehouse in New Jersey. We will continue to check in with them throughout the fulfillment process and update the group again as soon as everything is en route to us!

ArthurMWe got an update! The shipment has been received!
It will only take the monkey that MassDrop has assigned to this order ANOTHER week to 1) Open a box, and 2) Put 100 items into pre-printed mailers.
Given a 7 hour workday, that's 2 items into a mailer per hour. Such an efficient monkey!
We can expect another update on December 5th, Letting us know the trials and tribulations the monkey went through and why they had to bring another monkey in to really get the job done.... but honest the next next next update on Dec.17th will be a good one.

Awaiting confirmation! We are still in contact with the vendor and just awaiting updated shipment estimates from them. We have a call scheduled first thing tomorrow morning and should get a bit more visibility in regards to when we can expect these in our warehouse.

I heard that this amp is having lots of static problems. Could it be fixed with a new cable or is it not worth entering the drop?

OwenKaneFrom a cursory investigation, it seems that replacing the aux-cable fixes the static problem.
-- According to multiple posts from MassDroppers here, along with a fairly recent thread on HeadFI that doesn't draw any complaints about the XQ-10 at all ::

Although I haven't investigated enough to determine if the issue with "Static while plugged in (usb)" is common - I'm leaning towards unlikely.
If the XQ-10 isn't up to snuff, I guess I will need to look at one of the FiiO's: E17K, E12A, or maybe even the budget-friendly E5. And unfortunately, there are no FiiO DAC/Amp drops.
