Hello, I'm not an audiophile but I still really enjoying to music. Would this amplifier suit m-50x audio-technica? If it doesn't, which amplifier would suit my headphone? Thank you

GiveitawayIn the past I always wonder why CD's sounded so much better at the music stores and then I found out their CD playstations have built in Nakamichi headphone amps! Headphone amps are designed to improve sonic performance and some can do better job than the others. However some amps may color the sound in a negative way. The fact is each amp has its own sonic signature and each listener has different preferences. If you are not too picky and just want some sort of dynamic enhancement, this amp should do the job and is of good value. On the other hand if your expectation is higher then you should consider a more expensive model. With exception, quite often quality of a product is proportional to the price you pay. Hope this helps.

ac3698The DAC in my SMSL SD793-II sounds better than the amplifier... The raw power from my DAC is quite noticeably better than the amp. Powered 56 Ohm headphones very well with plenty of headroom.

ac3698If you are saying that stores use Nakamichi amps to improve the sound, then those are very old amps, or thy are the crap that the Chinese make under the Nakamichi name in the past few years. Nakamichi went into bankruptcy, and the name was sold to a. Chinese conglomerate that slaps it on some dubious hardware. That is why you see Nakamichi headphones sold at Sears, and Nakamichi branded banana plugs on Amazon. Once again, another proud company having their name raped by Chinese junk peddlers. Didn't you wonder why Nakamichi would not be heavily invested in the portable or desktop DAC and amp market at this point?

MJLavelleTo most CD consumers listening a test CD with Nakamichi amp would definitely sound better than no amps especially for those who cannot even tell the difference between boomy bass vs clean tight bass. I am not saying those Nakamichi amps in CD stores are high quality amps but the sound enhancement would certainly make the test CD's more attractive to some listeners. I couldn't determine when these amps were manufactured, whether before or after Nakamichi went into bankruptcy, however these music stands are the older type and they have been around for a number of years. I did some research and found out the model is "Nakamichi MB-K1000 10 X CD Sampling Changer System Listening station" and it is considered to be vintage equipment..
