It’s no surprise that Yard-O-Led named its Corinthian fountain pen after one of the most important cities of Ancient Greece. After all, the hand-engraved silver barrel recalls the iconic pillars of Neoclassical architecture. It’s also a nod to time-honored artisanal techniques, which Yard-O-Led uses in crafting not just the barrel but also the sterling silver trim, cap, and pocket clip. To highlight this handmade quality and the uniqueness of every pen, each Corinthian features a finial that has been numbered and hallmarked.
Note: At checkout, you’ll have your choice of Fine or Medium nib sizes. Quantities are extremely limited (one Fine, three Medium).
The pen is fitted with an 18-karat white gold nib, which is engraved with this designation along with the Yard-O-Led name. Offering a satisfying click when closed, the snap-closure cap can be posted without affecting the balance of the pen, and it features a contoured pocket clip that is also engraved with the company name. Each pen is packed in a black wood box with decorative metal clasp, which includes Yard-O-Led's lifetime guarantee.
Yard-O-Led has made its home in the much-celebrated Jewellery Quarter of Birmingham—which boasts Europe’s largest concentration of jewelers—since the middle of the 20th century. Comprising only eight employees, three of whom have worked for the company for more than 40 years, this family-run enterprise is helmed by Director Tim Tufnell, whose family ties to the company hark back more than 100 years.
