Hey, love this board even though it's cheap and has quirks.
Through trial and error and scraping what little info's on the internet I've been compiling a list of all the functions the keyboard has into a reference sheet:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Xcz-icfTZxGKhU3agoq8VXxt0K008tbxyg4y1-HZHGw/edit?usp=sharing
I know it's late, but I hope this helps someone get more usage out of theirs.
I plugged it in and it lights up but no keystrokes are registered. There are no instructions, no driver, nothing on this webpage for how to get it working. Disappointed at the complete lack of support. Is this normal for Drop?
Thanks BrianFurySong for the note about Fn-Backspace, at least I got it to register keystrokes now.
Edit: I posted a review with a link to the docs and setup software, for other confused newbies like me. Thanks to the other users for posting the info that got me up and running.
This board has turned into a major headache. I was able to set it up without issue and it worked for a couple days. Last night, we shut down the computer while the board was connected via bluetooth. Since then, it will not register any keystrokes in Windows. I've tried to reconnect the bluetooth, remove the device and added it again in Windows, yet it still fails to register any keystrokes. This issue persists even in wired mode too. Windows detects the device without issue and the drivers load right up. The VX9 software appears to communicate with the board as well as I'm able to change the LED lights and even restore the board. Unfortunately even restoring the board with the VX9 software hasn't resolved the issue. I tried to hold FN+Backspace as recommended by BrianFurySong but that didn't register on the board. It won't allow me to turn off the bluetooth nor will it let me toggle the numlock. I can tell it registers the keystroke on the board itself because the LED's will light up. It almost seems that the software got corrupted somehow. Has anyone dealt with an issue like this? I'd appreciate any suggestions because I've run out of ideas on how to fix it.
ok so i THINK mine is DOA.... anybody has any suggestions? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFEH0tXTLDI
ok nvm. i held down FN+Backspace for 3 sec and the board reset and started to work.
Apologies if this is a dumb question, first timer here. Is there a decent set of shine through keycaps for this layout? I haven't seen anything with the smaller shift key or the proper zero key. I'd really like a "pudding" keycap set, those seem to top out at 104-108 keys, most of the 96 key layouts look like you need a 125 key set.
i wound up getting the puddings bottom row doesn't have any of the correct keys for half of them and had to use the 1.25 shift instead of a 1.75 shift but other than that i got it working well. who knows maybe in a year or 2 they will have pudding modifiers. i do like the look of the pudding though and the slightly small shift key doesn't look to bad to me.
dvorcolLooked nice till I saw the odd gap in the arrow keys. This is why 1800 happens. Either no gap or full break out. Not this one key in the wrong place thing.
