$500 for a quartz watch?

rumata13Yeah, I get that it's titanium/tritium, but for half that, you could get a triple sensor, atomic/solar Casio with more bells & whistles than... something with a lot of bells & whistles. ;P

rumata13I'm pretty sure there are quartz watches that cost a lot more than $500. (Omegas, Tags and Grand Seikos come to mind). I would have gladly paid 500 for the Yes Equilibrium, if I didn't blow all my budget on my wife's watch this month. I don't think any mechanical watch in existence can do what it does. So, if you're reading this Mr. Bjorn Kartomten, please drop this again soon (like in 8 weeks or so ;o) )... I'll be definitely buying it.

Hmmmm this is mighty tempting. It represents everything I want in a ‘smart’ watch and none of the stuff I don’t.

Yea damnit. Have one now and bought another. Better get yours or regret having once again, lost your opportunity. At $500.00 it’s a steal!! Get it you know your want to. Imagine, PVD and titanium. The silver is a real pleasure. All of these features work. I use mine to time stuff I need to know the right phase of the moon in addition to the right solstice, equinox and cross quarter dates. It just covers everything and now I have it in Black. 😈😈😍😍

Thank you very much. I imagine they would want to replace it themselves, I’m just more concerned as to what would happen if they went out of business. Have you needed to ‘update’ the watch in anyway? Or is it theoretically able to run right out of the box with no software updates?

WatchyoutalkingaboutRuns out of the box. You may have to change the city... About the out of business thing: I guess you could worry about that but they've been in business since 1999 so that's 20 years. Probably more than most micro-brands. In the end, it's a choice you have to make. I hear they are down to just two units left. 😳

question - The watch allows for setting location by lat/long - does that confirm it accurately portrays solar and lunar data for the southern hemisphere too...I would expcet so but want to confirm before buying. thanks

The main photo shows 13:45 digitally and about 13:20 on analog. Cool watch, but it’s a bit off-putting to see QA issues in the marketing material

KboneLike a lot of "analogue" hand watches - the indicator is driven by a stepper motor and these can (and do) slip. Most watches - this one included - allow you to re-calibrate the "home" position of the hands to re-sync to the digitally driven time. I expect that was not done in the photo. If it were there would be no discrepancy by definition. Since there was, it must not have been re-calibrated.

No Druid should leave home without one!
Thank you Massdrop community for your interest and purchases. Greatly appreciated! All Massdrop EQ orders were shipped yesterday. They will arrive charged and set for your time and location. There are lot of temptations in pushing all the buttons right away and I sure get that. It is the kind of watch were you want to read the IM, especially the fist few pages with the face and button descriptions. I could also see that just putting it on and see what it does for the next few days is an equally good start. Thanks again!

No one else provides this kind of attention to detail. Some come close but you take the prize. :-)

saturnphiveMissed that comment too, d'oh! Well I'll keep my eyes open, this is a very strange and incredibly complicated watch - and I love that its "just" a watch. If they made a mechanical version, it would cost a million dollars and be an inch thick.
