Edit: Tealios - 67g Linear (Tiff Blue)
I loved these switches. I'm a huge fan of brown, and these feel so smooth. Pair these with a nice case and plate and you will be in love.
I’m going to start this review by saying that the quality control on these switches was terrible. I have a 65% board so when I ordered a pack of 70 I thought even if there are some defects I’ll be ok. WRONG! of the 70 I ordered, 10 were defective. On a few, the stem would get caught in the housing when you pushed the switch down and needed to be forcibly pulled up to reset. On 2 more I had a weird problem where half the time the switch would feel fine but the other half of the time would give off a terrible tinny click as if it were a clicky switch. I had about 7 that came with factory bent pins that needed to be straightened and in the process 2 switches had pins snap off. The last of the “defective” switches had the same problem as the clicky ones but instead it was a mushy linear-like switch. This review is getting a 2 star instead of a 1 because the switches that do work work great and I love the feel of these switches.
Pros: great when they work and love the tactility
Cons: literally everything listed above
Tldr: 10/70 switches were defective so be wary, great when they work
Tons of bent pins in a sandwich baggie. At about $1 per switch I would expect these arrive more safely packaged. The box they were sent in was fine but if you only put bubble packaging in half the box, the baggie is going to fill the rest of the box. But really, a sandwich baggie? Halos and pandas arrive in sturdy packaging that protect the pins, in plastic trays. I shouldn't have to spend time carefully examining these for bent pins and bending them back. There are just as good or better tactiles out there, for half the price. The only good thing is that there's so much (undeserved) hype out there for these I should be able to sell them on MechMarket and recoup some of this money.
The switches provided extreme tactility and was very satisfying to type on. The clear housing of the switches are also perfect for RGB boards and the switches perform excellently. The packaging it came in was just a small ziplock bag and some of the pins were slightly bent. Some of the stock springs were also bent for some reason and gave this mushy feeling like they were silent switches. The typing experience and the feel of the switch really grew on me over the first week of using. I really enjoy typing on them now and I think for me the switch feel is incredible and anyone seeking tactility in a switch should try these out. I have used MassDrop holypandas and I have to say that in terms of the feel I do prefer the zeal v2s. I will say that the pandas have better acoustics although that could be due to the stock lubing of the pandas and that I have not lubed the zeals.
Very great switch to have in your arsenal. If you’re looking for a nice starter switch in customs keyboards it maybe a tad expensive, but if you’re not wanting to go down a path looking for the perfect switch this is a good one to get. Currently have these in a JD40 board.
