So I would need to get this + switches (like whichever purple ones) + keycaps (like Ducky PBT) + an enclosure? Then, if I wanted a numpad, that would be an extra $40-$60? Is that correct?.. So I'd essentially be looking at likely $350 or more for a full size keyboard?.. Ridiculous...

Typhoon859Welcome to the hobby, I guess? Also you'd be missing the function key row if you wanted a full-size keyboard.
If you really wanted a full-size keyboard, though, I'm not sure why you'd be looking at a drop for a 60% PCB...

Typhoon859That's only if you want per-key RGB, which most mech enthusiasts don't. You can get a 60% PCB with even better layout support but no per-key RGB for about $30 instead of $115.

Typhoon859This the Mercedes of pcbs. There are much cheaper ones that actually have better layout options. Check the DZ60 or a techkeys GH60 if you're wanting to build a 60%

montydreiBecause they don't have a full-size.

BaconheartWhy would you presume otherwise? I didn't arbitrarily select this. That's a fundamental part of what I need (actually the reason I even began looking into mechanical keyboards originally which largely seemed to be the only ones with this feature). I particularly got into this because of ZealPC Purple RGB switches. I didn't like any regular browns I tried and Cherry MX Clears don't come in RGB (also not a fan of clicky switches).
Yes, something else would be cheaper. If I was making a point, that would be it. If there's an actual substitute to this, feel free to point me in the right direction. My questions in the OP also weren't entirely rhetorical. I was asking if those are the things I would actually need, if there was anything missing, anything extra, and if that would actually have to be the final price.

Typhoon859Nobody makes a full size pcb with per key rgb. In fact, the zeal 60 is the only pcb with per key, as far as I know, in any form factor. You could switch swap a masterkeys pro l though.
Edit: or get a full size gmmk

EnsaumExactly. So that should answer people's question as to why I was looking at this as an option despite my objection to the projected total cost. As I mentioned, I legitimately was looking for confirmation of whether what I was saying was correct and perhaps further engage if anyone knew of alternatives.

Ensaumkbdfans.cn has per key rgb boards for 65% less the cost. But i believe this pcb was first to market hence the hefty price

RadiospankI totally forgot about the GK64. Kinda limited to one layout though (not to mention north facing switches), and Typhoon wanted a full size anyways.

EnsaumYeah, unfortunately for my purposes, I don't want - I need all those things :/
