Got the cleaver and it came super sharp. So sharp in fact I actually sliced 2 fingers. 16 stitches later, here I am with a sharp cleaver with nice weight for cleaving

For the money spent I feel like I got a great deal. The knife was presented quite nicely in this little box and it was rather cute. I found the knife to have a very good balance between blade and handle and the blade to be of sufficient quality. The blade itself may not be gazillion time folded steel or anything but it holds its sharpness and sturdiness quite well, but needs to be sharpened and otherwise maintained more than a more expensive knife.

These knives are pretty solid options in terms of value. My chef's knife laminated edge ran right up to the cutting edge on one side which isn't ideal, but not a total wash. I also noticed a small chip on the tip of the paring knife and some rough unfinished edges along the heel, but nothing i couldn't re-profile myself. With a bit better quality control, these would be great at this price point. My favourite to use has got to be the veggie because of the tapered bolster. Wish they all came like that.

The drop price made these a worthwhile purchase. Right out of the boxes I made half a dozen passes on each side across my 12"x3" strop block from Knives Plus to see how 'finished' the edges were. Both knives left more material on the block than I thought the VG-10 steel would. The already fine-edged 7-Inch Veggie TPR was left with a seriously mirror-like cutting edge facet that quickly proved to be the sharpest thing in my kitchen. The less sharp, more utilitarian edge of the 6.5-Inch Multipurpose Cleaver also cleaned up to the point that chopping was made fun and easy. Glad I made this purchase.

Just received the knives and I'm really underwhelmed. I bought the 6.5" cleaver and the Veggie Cleaver. what looks in the photos as an angled grind is actually just some sort of light etching and there's no angle, the knife is completely flat. both knives are thin and feel very light, both bent to the left and out of the box are not very sharp.

ShaulbYup, we're just gonna have to make the best of it. I do try to remember to use mine now and then but really, the other knives I have are easier to use. On the other hand, I'm going to hang on to this thing anyway--might come in handy for my next "murder and dismemberment" party?

Zhen is great marketing it's products around the globe. Zhen is not great at all with products quality control. And this is real shame.
Paring knife I got is seriously bent to left - about 6-8 degrees.
Is it usable - no thanks. Will give it away to my elderly mother in law. She is nearly blind and can't see the difference.
As for me, Zhen is typical Chinese product where you can win a lottery, but usually consumer is at loss..

Really enjoy my 6.5” TPR. Not the fanciest /nicest knife I own, but VG10 is VG10 and the price can’t be beat.

I got both butcher knife and the big one is nicely balance while the smaller needed a slightly thicker handle as it feels unbalanced in my hand and not confident for chopping as well maybe the handle could be a little longer also

Veggie cliver: It is an very good knife. I am not a knife snob, but I do know and appreciate a good knife when I use one, even if it isn't a super well known brand. This one is amazing because of a few things: not too heavy but with enough substance to let you know you are holding something. The silicon handle is nice as it allows you to have a secure grip without having to grab the knife too hard. I saw that some people complain that the blade was flat, but the good side that I see is that it requires even less force to slice through hard vegetables like pumpkins etc. Regarding the sharpness, I have to say that is is SCARY sharp. Mine had no bent between the blade and the handle. I also appreciate the height of the blade because a lot of food can stick to it and not fall back on the board where it can get cut again. I know this is often sawn as a negative and most prefer the food to fall off the blade. There is a comment of the etching on the blade... I would agree, it is meant to look cool, and a bit "cheap", and it does make the food stick even more to the blade... Personally, I can pass on the negatives stated above because of the quality of the steel, the weight and ergonomic. I would have given a 5 stars if the blade did not have the etching.
