I’m a hobbie home chef looking to upgrade my knives without breaking the bank. Can anyone recommend these knives for such a use? They seem to be exactly what I’m looking for from the description.

brobI paid $120 for the 67 layer version, it was a set of the 7" santoku, 5" santoku, and chef's knife which is just a little bit more than these. I don't know how the three layer is but mine are freakin' awesome. They're well made and feel absolutely solid.
I suppose, like all knives, they're only as good as how well you sharpen them. I'd invest in a decent 1000/6000 stone and watch some YouTube vids to get the hang of it.
