This seems like a complete ripoff.
This review for a PBT doubleshot keycap. They're both shiny and they're both keycaps, but they're not the same. These caps are zinc, not a synthetically engineered polymer.
Yeah, I have the one that Linus reviewed. They were cheap like 20 bucks but when i got them they felt and look very fake. The plastic tends to leave a gloss and oily pingerprint while it felt a bit uncomfortable to use compared to my old matte keykaps.
I'm sure these will be a much higher feel in build quality, than the ones you previously purchased, because they're zinc. However, if you look up people who've reviewed zinc keys a few months after heavy use - they're not very happy with the appearance. They seem to show rub marks on heavy used keys. They look and feel amazing when they're new, but they don't hold up very well with wear & tear.
They're still ugly. That's the point we're trying to get across, whatever material they're made of they still look the same.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The durability issue is what really gets me off the boat. I would also prefer if they were backlit. A double shot method with the outer layer being zinc would be pretty cool. The optional included backlit WASD in this drop are completely polymers.
I got this the last time they dropped, and the durability isn't that bad.
