How much is the Zippo logo's worth? Because the made-in-China steel flask is worth no more than 1.25$...

SoakedinVancouverThanks for your question, we've sourced Chinese flasks before and yes, they were dirt cheap, not $1.25/unit cheap, but both QA, vendors, and materials used was highly questionable and we decided not to list the Chinese sourced flask.
When you buy Zippo, you have a the assurance that this is a quality product and it's been through their QA process. If you can find a flask that can have the same standards as the current product at a lower price, let us know and we will consider it.
Cheers,
Andy

SoakedinVancouverHey - I was actually the person to create the first flask poll here (700 votes): https://www.massdrop.com/vote/flasks . We ended up ordering sample units for the first ones and had two main concerns:
1) When we spoke to the vendors (multiple) mainly in China/Taiwan, we were asked if we want the "American" quality or the "Chinese" quality flask. When we asked about the difference, we were told it had to do with how strict of health/safety standards we wanted around the products. We weren't even willing to entertain the idea of sourcing a flask coming from factories that could potentially have unsafe materials. Even from those, our source price was about $2.00-$2.50 per unit (add in shipping + fulfillment costs and it would be about $7-ish to your door).
2) The quality of the sample units were unacceptable. The hinge for the cap was loose and shaky - I was able to relatively easy bend the hinge and break off the cap (I'm a normal guy and do not have superhuman strength). We were sure we could better in similar price range.
So we felt way more comfortable about the Zippo brand's safety and manufacturing standards. The build quality is much better than any of the Chinese ones that we saw as well.
@milad We tested it out and were able to pour about 2.5-3 full shots. It's a different usage model when compared to a 6-8oz flask. This one is more for getting you started or maintaining, while the 8oz flasks mean business. We are looking into larger ones after this as well as ones made out of different materials (pewter?).
@HalfMoon Unfortunately, a funnel is not included.
