ORI pads. Lambskin or Pleather. Which nets a warmer sound with milder treble on the Fostex (or EMU teak)?
Lambskin has a smoother/warmer sound, protein is a touch brighter.
Thanks for the reply. The Eikon pads appear to have a less shiny look than the Ori (both lambskin and pleather). I prefer the more matte finish look and they'd match up better with my EMU Teaks I think. That said, do the Eikon pads allow you to put that plastic ring from the old pads into it, and then put them on the cans? I know these work without it, but I've heard with it, there is a lifting of the warmth area (low mids and bass) which I universally prefer (I'm a big fan of my modded Sony MDR-Z7 for example).
