Released in 1989, the Nintendo Game Boy is one of the best-selling pocket gaming systems of all time—so it should come as no surprise that new keycap makers ZMKC are on a mission to christen the famous system on keyboards everywhere. Complete with a directional pad, buttons, and a screen, these Cherry-profile artisan caps offer a hint of nostalgia Read More
I wanted this to a nice feature to my first custom keyboard... I bought Cherry Silver clear switches, picked out a TKL barebones for my first project, along with Steel wolf gaming keys. The Drop keys went on the stem fine, so did the Steelwolf keys. This custom keycap, though, decided that it was not going onto the stem withought a fight. After staring at the bottom of the key, rotating the key, copious amounts of swearing, I managed to figure out that I had to wiggle the key in a certain way to marry the custom key with the stem of the switch. There. It looks great. I am never planning on removing that key from that switch ever again.
Artisan keycaps aren't good value for money by any measure, but if you want to max out your build with a unique touch there's no better way of doing that. The pictures speak for themselves - the details on this keycap are amazing and the screen does allow light to pass through if you have an RGB keyboard.
ive been usinging this keycap as my delete key, that get alot of use, and is showin no signs of ware thus far, the screen also allows for rgb pass though that is nice
