Is only one of the compartments water tight? I feel like this is just begging for leakage.

KingGhidorahOnly the bottom most container has an o-ring to protect spillage. The next one up has a twist seal and the top two have a lid that fits over the edge. Unless you're tipping the container upside down all the time, you might have problems.
I like that it fits vertically in a backpack. Most of the time, other lunch containers are different shapes and don't fit the bag perfectly so your food gets tossed around even more.
