So in what world does 1 liter equal 5.5 cups? Zojirushi has always perplexed me with they weird measurements on these cookers.

eneroAmerican cup = 240ml
Japanese cup = 200ml
Japanese cup for rice = 180 ml
1000 /180 = 5.55... which they round to 5.5

GrakkusAh, thanks for this. I lost my Zojirushi cup a while ago, but before I had I measured it and find that it was the equivalent of 3/4 cup American. Now I know why.
