Compact enough to fit in most kitchens, the Zojirushi rice cooker is capable of much more than cooking standard white rice. Use it to cook up to 3 cups of sushi rice, brown rice, GABA brown rice, steel cut oatmeal, and more in no time Read More
Just to put that price in perspective - I recently bought new parts for my Zojirushi NP-HBC10, and it was almost as much as this entire cooker. $115 for a new pot, new steam cap set and an inner lid set, direct from Zojirushi.
Then again, the NP-HBC10 was made in Japan, priced out at around $300 when new - and is still working like new after something like 12-13 years of service. Use several times a week for brown rice or farro. Makes amazing oatmeal. Hope that my Zoji never dies :)
This is a crazy good rice cooker. I didn’t know that I could make rice this good at home. There’s not that awful crunchy layer at the bottom that has to be cleaned. I’m getting extras for gifts!!
Zojirushi makes the BEST rice cookers. I have a similar model that I've used constantly for 5+ years and zero issues. If you love perfectly cooked rice, buy with confidence.
will using this over cheaper cookers prevent that aweful cake/sheet of rice at the bottom/sides that i inavariably have to throw away EVERY damned time i make rice?
TjPhysicistzojirushi is like the creme de la creme as far as rice cookers go.
I bought one years ago, one of the higher end models I think it was ~$300. I enjoy it a lot. Before this I had 5 rice cookers, all that break and wear out. So if each rice cooker was ~$20 then I wasted $100 on replacing cheap rice cookers. Don't get me wrong, I bought new and returned the burned out ones 2 times but there comes a time to upgrade to something that isn't garbage.
I don't know if this zojirushi has it, I'm assuming it does, but I set a timer on mine to have rice made for the morning.
But it looks like Amazon is going to be your goto for this.
