Alpha279This might be a tad late but wirecutter just did an article on how to get the smell out of silicone bits with low temp baking, might be worth a read (shot).

Alpha279As long as I wash it after each use, and since I'm only ever going to use this mug for coffee, it's kind of pointless in my case to worry about coffee smell. :-)
