I have been searching for a portable DAC solution that can be used with my phone and laptop as well. The ZuoerDAC-S ticks all the boxes. Major impressions: it's the perfect size to act as a dongle with your phone. Soundwise, the ESS Sabre ES9018Q2C does its job. Soundstage improvements, clarity, tighter bass, clearer highs, richer mids. For $60, this is a sound improvement that will be heard on all ranges of headphones/in ears (except the high impedance ones).
The only caveat is the included accessories. 3 cables (all 10cm in length), USB-C to micro-USB, micro-USB to micro-USB and USB-A to micro-USB come with the DAC. My USB-C to micro-USB cable is defective and keeps disconnecting with my source phone. Had to spend on a new cable which was also longer than the included one, thus somewhat making the portable aspect more troublesome. I suspect the cable quality will also vary among everyone.
Despite that, I highly recommend this product as for $60, you cannot go wrong with the sound quality, portability and flexibility across various sources.

EdwardyeeksRegarding your comment about high impedance cans, should I skip this for use with HD6xx's then?

bbirch2Don't skip this one. It should run fine with 6xx but if you feel you need more power, then connect the ZuperDAC to a Schiit Magni using a 3.5mm to RCA cable from Amazon - or any other amp.
