UzuzuWait, really? I didn't know that! The PS4 does support USB audio out...so I guess ZuperDAC will work with it? I am just concerned considering these require drivers to work on Windows (although PS4, i think, is Linux-based).
MufaafThe PS4 will do audio out to portable amp/dacs, as at one stage I had a Fiio Q1 plugged into mine. There is however one problem, the audio channels will be reversed, the left channel going into the right ear driver and vice versa...
This was a real problem for me as I had to wear my 'phones in reverse all the time to get proper positional audio in games.
IAmTheSnakeInMyBootYou could use an external DAC with separate amp, and swap the RCA's, like, connect the left out to right in and right out to left in
Mufaafnecro, but: the PS4 uses freeBSD, not linux. (the nintendo switch actually also uses freeBSD.)
freeBSD, just like linux (which android and chromeOS are) and macOS (actually another BSD), supports this kind of audio over USB without special drivers.
xbox one doesn't work like this because it runs software that is based on windows. as others have mentioned, you need a special driver to use this on windows. but xbox one only supports "universal windows platform" apps, aka, only ones from the windows store that say they work on xbox one. drivers are always old-style .exe files instead, which the xbox one refuses to run, or even acknowledge.
IAmTheSnakeInMyBootHey, wondering if you ever got it working with the zuperdac? I'm trying to set mine up right now and it's not detecting anything in the audo settings
