The monitors should already be discounted from the original MSRP due to the fact they're "refurbished," the MSRP currently posted is reflective of a brand new version of this monitor which isn't right. It doesn't seem as great a deal for a refurbished product, but that's just my two sense. If this were for new monitors, I'd be all over this drop.

KZahn Check our our convo from the weekend.

ShaneJ90 BenQ 3d UnixRoninThis is not true at all. These are not defective, "failed," or otherwise damaged products. These are units that were used at one of our sponsored MLG gaming events/tournaments, a customer returned the unit within 30 days due to buyers remorse, or got the wrong monitor for their needs. .... In a way, our refurbished are better than new because they go through a rigorous quality inspection process to make sure we are not reselling something that got damaged on the way back to the warehouse or have any dead pixels, etc. A new unit is not tested, so can arrive dead on arrival. Along with the discounted price, our refurbs come with a 1 year warranty. Let me know if you have additional questions or concerns.

RichardRahlI read this thread before writing my response and saw that comment, but even though all these units, "are better than new" and were used lightly then returned. This doesn't mean you can charge the brand new MSRP for a unit labelled as "refurbished," a label I didn't attach to this product. It says it in the title, and as such a refurbished unit should already be discounted from original MSRP because it's been unboxed, used, etc. I have no qualms against Benq/Zowie's quality control, merely that these price should be for either a NEW monitor or the drop should be further discounted to reflect the "refurbished" label attached to this product drop.

KZahnThe closest price I can find for this monitor NEW is 359.00 with a MSRP at 449.00. This is discounted. This price with the 1 year warranty feels like a deal to me. Still have to pay for quality sometimes.

RichardRahlThese monitors NEW sell for $359 MSRP, I'll attach the link below for Zowie's website where you can see for yourself. I'm not sure where you pulled $449 from, but it isn't accurate and this "refurbished" shouldn't have a starting price point equal to a new unit. If these were new units for this Drop I wouldn't be pointing this out. http://www.zowiedirect.com/xl2430.html?__hstc=51037238.7034d2a003e60d49ac4dbf7558cd5cdf.1486422016469.1486422016469.1486422016469.1&__hssc=51037238.4.1486422016469&__hsfp=3069226615

KZahnThat's exactly what I said, I found these NEW for $359. Original MRSP was $449. Amazon, Newegg, and even Walmart shows the original MSRP of $449. What is your price for this drop? Mine shows $269.99 a piece.

RichardRahlI'm in the states and mine also shows at $269, just checked all those sites and didn't see $449 anywhere so to me $359 is MSRP for a new unit.

KZahnOk, well I do not see how you consider $269 an equal price point to $359. Anyways, I was just trying to be helpful with my original message to you. Best of luck in your search for a new monitor.

RichardRahlIt shouldn't be such a high price considering it's refurbished it should be down at around $159.00 on sale and $259.00 MSRP but this is an outrageous price for a refurbished piece of equipment

9000OversThen I guess you shouldn't buy it. A one time used, fully inspected product with a 1 year warranty doesn't sound too bad to me.

KZahnI see what you are saying. Massdrop merely posts what the most expensive cost of these monitors can be, which is all marketing. In the marketing world, showing the max price with the discount price makes a huge difference in getting a person to click. If we are getting technical, the MSRP on a refurbished XL2430 is $307.00. So the price you pay here is still better. I hope that clarifies things a bit further. :)

9000OversYou get what you pay for. If you knew what I knew and why the pros choose us, you may reconsider. To each his own. There are plenty of monitors out there for $159.00 and lower. Whether or not they are 100% for gaming. I wish you the best of luck on your monitor search and if you need further clarification on this response or more questions, feel free to email me at shane@benq.com.
