The freestanding option is nice.
It is not like other freestanding tents for me. It is a lil loose. You can tie it out to stretch it. But the reason for freestanding is to use where ground is rocky with no tie outs.
I had a zpacks zero backpack built specifically to fit the duplex in an external side pocket. That way cook pot on one side. Tent on the other. Easy to grab things to put up first and start heating for dinner.
I also have a dual zpacks 20 degree bag and single. So if girlfriend and i go we use dual sleeping bag.
I absolutely love the tent. I have lightheart gear tents too. But always now use this because its insanely light.
Have a solo too. But my 14 year old is using it now.
