why did this end early, there was 5 or 6 days left, i was about to place the order and it switched to inactive???? i had to go to a local shop to make sure of the size i wanted and had enough time to do so... did you list at the wrong prices and realize it after the fact? If so i will never buy anything else from this page and spread the word...

BurgemanI raised the issue of a discrepancy in the pricing of the steak knives set between this offer and another Zwilling offer, where the steak knives were a $700 add-on to the knife block. That drop is also now inactive, and I believe it also had days to run. I'm starting to have misgivings about Massdrop, what with the no-return policy, late shipment, usual failure to mention where things are made (if it's China), etc. It really makes it hard to go yet further and trust that Massdrop-made is going to deliver. If you want trust these days, you'd better deliver on price, quality, and service. That includes giving an explanation, and apology, when you foul up.

PennMassdrop did mentioned that these knifes are made in Seki, Japan. I bought many items from Massdrop before, and they always delivered. Cheer.

Jonathan-LeAs I said, they fail to mention the place of manufacture IF it's China, usually. That's not good. We shouldn't have to ask. I didn't mention problems getting things we ordered, just that it takes long for them to place the order, because of the business model. When I mentioned about Massdrop-made "delivering," I meant in terms of value, etc. They're expecting an extra level of trust for those transactions, so I'd expect them to be scrupulous in their regular drops to inspire the kind of confidence we'll need to participate. The way the Zwilling drops were handled doesn't do that. That was my point.

PennI disagree. Most of the products (that I interested in), Massdrop did mentioned the place of manufacture IF it's China. Some peoples never really bother to read it thoroughly. It didn't take long for Massdrop to place any order. It were the manufactures that were delate for whatever reasons (short of staffs, missing parts, broken machines... etc.) The only thing that Massdrop did not mention in this Zwilling drop is the amount of knifes that were available. Some peoples were missing out on a really good knife. It sold out in less than 24 hours.

Jonathan-LeIt sold out? You know this for a fact? All I see is two Zwilling drops shut down, apparently at the same time. Last I'd seen of the number of orders, the other one, for the knife block, wasn't near being met, but it had days to go. There was a big price discrepancy between what appeared to be the same item (set of steak knives) being offered in each drop. That alone could lead them to shut down the drops. I believe my points stand. YMMV, etc.

PennFWIW, my credit card was charged for the full amount of my order and I received an order confirmation by email. I remember seeing a section in the top third of the page that said this drop was limited to 100 items (or something like that). So I don't think this drop was prematurely shutdown, especially when the 8-inch knives sold out overnight. I'm not familiar with the other Zwilling drop, but this one looks to have sold out fast.

mindbender9there is no way, the 8" was sold out for a while, then the other 6 or 7 randomly sold out exactly at the same time? they ended this early for some reason and I am very aggravated..

BurgemanI don’t know what to tell you. I bought several items and it’s possible others did also. I rushed to purchase my items.
And I’m just a customer - I don’t work for Zwilling or Massdrop.
