Interest Check: Flashlights
After moving into the world of 18650 lights with my Eagletac D25LC2 clicky, I don't know if I'd go back to using AA's or AAA's, and for a small light probably stick to cr123 based lights. For functionality my favorite light was my Maratac AAx2, I like how simple it was, click on, and half click through your 3 brightness levels, and break the head to quickly get to strobe. I didn't care for its memory of what mode you were last on, I'd rather...

I agree. My EDC is a Fenix LD01-SS due to the size, but AAA doesn't allow enough light output for any kind of serious outdoor use. Any time I need real light output, I reach for my current fave: the Eagletac D25LC2 clicky. It's got good light output in a compact size, and gets great runtime with 18650 battery. Compatibility with 2x CR123A is a nice bonus for the off chance that power becomes unavailable (e.g. natural disaster, etc.) for...

I've tried a decent variety of different lights. I have different ones I like for different purposes. My EDC is an Olight S1 Baton. It's small, bright, has a good short to medium range beam pattern, decent battery life on a RCR123, and the magnetic tailcap is surprisingly useful. The S1 Mini Baton is basically the same, except in a smaller package. The only reason that isn't my top EDC pick is because the pocket clip is single-position (lots...
