Machine Era Brass/Stainless Steel Fountain Pen Kit
Also, brass can be relatively lightweight if it's machined thin and the dimensions are kept relatively small. The travelers company brass pen is very nicely balanced. There are more "mainstream" metal pens that are quite premium and well liked. See the parker 75 sterling silver cisele (one of the most well loved pens of all time, not featherweight) or the faber castell loom, the lamy dialog 3, Pilot metal falcon, pilot vanishing point...

Kaweco Dia2 Fountain Pen
This is as sensible as a fountain pen get. Pure function over form and yet it looks great. Takes Kaweco sport nibs, too. Swap to your heart's content. The Dia2 is probably my favorite Kaweco, my only quibble is with the size, then again it posts quite well. And here's the quasi-obligatory sbrebrown review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P6XmGWZ3VwI

Jac Zagoory Pen Holders
Thanks, I got the laughing Buddha from Touch of Modern a couple of months ago, and you're right, they are very nice quality, but VERY small. So much so that I really don't use it to hold a pen at all. Even a small Kaweco Sport fountain pen looks HUGE while sitting on it. Regular sized pens simply fall off because they are either too large, or weighted such that they can't be balanced on the stand.

Stipula Passaporto Original Reproduction
I haven't had any issues but I'm a small sample size. There's always the brown paper bag trick and if not, Richard Binder sells a nib smoothing kit. The kit is great if you are heavily invested in fountain pens. The other complaint was that the nib flow was dry because the tines were too tight together. Richards kit comes with a brass shim to space out the tines as well. I love the size of the pen overall and the ink capacity since it's an...

Massdrop 101: Getting Started With Fountain Pens
[image] So You’re Thinking About Fountain Pens… There are a lot of good reasons to use a fountain pen. For one, it adds character to your handwriting—in every dot, cross, and flourish—that you just can’t get from a standard ballpoint. Some p...

Diplomat Moderns Magnum SoftTouch Fountain Pen
I've never used this pen. Let's get that out of the way. I'll base all my conclusions on SBRE Brown's review. If you asked me which fountain pen is German, plastic, smoothly textured, with a faceted barrel and grip, two little ink windows on the barrel and a weird hollow ring at the end, I'd take my Lamy Safari Charcoal out of my pocket to present it. I mean these two pens have so much in common aesthetically that I'd say Diplomat wants to...
