Headphone System Suggestions

Hoping for some opinions and guidance from the headphone crowd on what is possible with improving my setup. For the last couple of years I have spent a few hours on the majority of nights listening to music in bed before sleeping. The setup was an iPad Air (which still has the jack) and a pair of V-Moda Crossfade M100s. I also have a pair of AKG K240s but have not been able to drive them effectively with the iPad or another device, a Hiby R3. The R3 is mostly used in the Jeep but I have dragged it upstairs to try. The content is my main library which is all FLAC but mostly I listen to Spotify Premium. I like higher volume, mostly rock content. But I do have a decent collection of jazz and some other things. For my main room I run an Anthem AVM 60 pushing into a Krell KSA 150 and a pair of Klipsch hybrid designs. I don't really listen to music much down there, but I spend hours with the headphones. When I do listen on the main system I stream into the Anthem with a Bluesound Node... and holy cow does it sound good. Love the Bluesound even though its pricey. I started thinking about upgrading the headphone system. I pulled the Bluesound Node and moved it upstairs and plugged the AKGs into it. Much more detail, a nicer sound overall but distortion on some tracks. I do like high volume. I don't think I want to keep the Bluesound in the bedroom forever. Right now I have my trusty old Oppo 103 handling my FLAC library. I found Drop by accident searching around. I shopped, couldn't figure out what I wanted to do, and ended up buying a gaming headset PC38X and the Senn GSX1000 amp because hey... PUGB can never sound too good. I'd like to put together a nice little upstairs system and maybe take it a step at a time. I don't want to blow insane money on it, but I'd like it to really enjoy it. I've never owned a tube amp and I thought about it. The reviews on the DarkVoice and the hum issues scared me off. I also looked at the 589s. I want to drive a set of headphones in the under $500 range. I looked at the Senn 6XX. Not worried about disturbing people close to me with high volume. I just am not sure if these are a good choice for my situation, style of music etc. On the amp side there is the ONE Linear or the 789 Linear assuming I don't go tube which would be limited to the 336SE (trying to stay under $250 for the amp). My idea for the pre would be to feed a DAC with Bluetooth from the iPad (or phone). No cord to mess with. For now I can use the Bluesound but eventually I will want to replace it with a good Bluetooth DAC. I thought I would go about it this way. Buy the amp first, connect the Bluesound and use my AKGs. Then upgrade the headphones. Then do the DAC as the final piece. Now after all that - what suggestions do you have?
