PC Parts

more_vert
So I want to build my first PC for gaming and a little bit of animating and logo designing, but mainly for gaming. Could someone look at my list and recommend other parts?

Don't know exactly what your budget is but this is what I would recommend. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/827XdX I made five major changes. 1070 over 1060. The 1070 will be able to hit 60fps at 1080p for most things, while the 1060 may not. Extra vram is big as well. Changed the case to a mid tower. More space means more cooling, and if you can live with the bulkiness, it will be easier to work on and be less likely to have overheating issues. Also you can use it as a table. Win win. 16gb of ram. Not even optional anymore. Chrome by itself will happily munch up 8 gigs. 500gb ssd. They just aren't expensive enough these days to justify less than that. Changed cpu to a Ryzen because they are just better value these days.

First thing I would do with this build is put a little more money in the processor if possible. The 8400 is a good chip but I would put the extra hundred in and get the 8700 especially since from the look of your choices for this build it doesn't look like you plan on doing any overclocking. Second thing I would do is go with at least 16GB of memory Third thing, go with the 250GB SSD, the space will go quick with just the basic programs as well as any games. I would also advise that you set any programs that do not need to be on the C: drive to be installed on the D: drive. Fourth ting I would do is go with a 750w PSU so that you have room to grow as you upgrade. Fith and final thing I would do is get a CPU cooler, you do not have one listed. With this being a non K you can comfortably run it on an air cooler but since you plan on gaming, I will tell you what I tell everyone else, invest in an AIO, most AIO's will run your cpu cooler than air and give you a little more room to keep you from heat throttling. I can tell you from experience that in a tower that small you will definitely need to be careful with heat throttling because of the lack of space. You will more than likely get other opinions on the build so my best and last bit of advice is to read them all through, see where most agree the changes should be and work you way out from there. All builders do builds diferently so what I would do is not necessarily what another builder would do, that doesn't make them or me wrong, it just means that we build differently. I hope this helps, if you have any questions just reply to me and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Ethan Custom Extreme PC's

https://pcpartpicker.com/user/ethanchan/saved/#view=BdhYTW check out this build, I went with the 1050 ti instead of the 1060, the 1060 has a bit more power and you can get more FPS but it should really not be something you will notice or miss at 1080. If you are going to be using a 1440 monitor then you will want to go with the 1060 or do the 1050ti and scale down your settings.
