- Keyboard LEDs freeze in their current state (animations stop etc.)
- Keys become unresponsive, but the keyboard doens't disconnect from the PC
- I've tested this on multiple setups, with multiple different cables, powered vs unpowered USB hubs, multiple laptops and desktop PCs
- After unplugging the keyboard and plugging it back in, around 50% of the time it will function again.
- Leaving the keyboard unplugged for a longer amount of time gives a higher rate of it functioning normally again once plugged in
- Pressing the keys while the keyboard is unpowered/unplugged also increases the rate of restarting the keyboard succesfully (I suspect this allows power to drain from residual sources like caps on the PCB)
- After plugging the keyboard back in, sometimes it enters a state of semi-powered on (LEDs come on, but are dim) while remaining completely unresponsive
- The keyboard can be completely unreactive but still register with the host computer as it originally did in Device Manager
Having seen that there was a lot of these issues with the first rounds of the SHIFT, i'm hoping that someone has come up with a fix for the issue, or at least knows how to repair the board? I've contacted DROP about replacement parts, but they don't ship parts and as my keyboard is outside warranty, they won't replace it. Looking for some way to salvage this keyboard, as I really like the aesthetic and style, and don't want to waste the €250 I spent on this in the first place.
