I own a PS4 and a Ryzen 2700X machine. I have played a lot of games back then and I still continue to play them even to this day. When it comes to PC versus console it really all boils down to the development team behind the scenes. While back a few years ago Developers complained about the architecture behind the consoles, with the main complaint being the Cell structure in the PS3, it showed that developers have become lazy. Or not willing to explore a different path. Just like the Linux and open source OS users around the launch of windows 98 on Windows refund day, only a few people could truly understand the structure of cell to create wonderful games. Uncharted was one such game that was a sleeper hit on its first entry. the second entry was a massive success, while the third left people wanting more the fourth on PS4 still looked amazing. But I really do say Lazy when it comes to developing games. The cell architecture was hard to understand but when used properly you really could create some awesome games. Most developers used conversion software to "port" games to another console from the PC build. But ports can cause unwanted effects. Compression was another issue in the gaming industry that caused a lot of other problems to arise. Building a game in a compact sized disc was no longer viable which is why Sony went with Blu-Ray. But the difficulties of understanding a new way of making games in a small environment was not what the PC developers wanted to dabble with. They wanted things to become easier with coding in C sharp, or the new F sharp. They did not want to go back to C or C Plus. They wanted everything to be easier to understand. But what most developers failed to realize was the resolution that most games ran when on console versus PC. Console users did not have HDTV's yet. But when HDTV took over they were future proof. At the same time many games looked horrible because of the choice they made for each game to be ported. Meanwhile PC gaming was beginning to flourish and LED lights took over the industry like a flood of locusts in the summer. I stayed away from PC gaming until I made enough money finally to build my first machine. And I just so happened to build mine around the time the Ryzen 2700X was launching. Got myself the 470 chipset, fast ram, lots of different hard drives, and a graphic card from team red. But the games that I play? CS:GO..... 1 game..... it is the only game I keep coming back to. I bought a few others but I seem to lose interest in them so quickly that I no longer care about the stories in them and just go right back to CS:GO. Call of duty? nope. COD4MW1 on PS3 was enough for me. I bought Black Ops 4 on PS4 with the "pass" but I never even touch the game anymore. I bought Spyro and beat the first game but the second game? too much for me. Eventually I will play the games but for now I have no time for them. The only other game I now play on occasion is GWENT the card game from the witcher, but not the version in witcher. The online multiplayer version with only 2 rows instead of 3.
