I haven't seen a Pepsi bezel diver out there worth anything other than the Rolex and Seiko. Seems like a Squale 1545 with a blue and red bezel would be perfect for a Massdrop special- Squale doesn't make one, but if enough people are interested, I bet they'd do a limited run. I don't have a Squale yet and haven't seen them here yet- anyone else interested? I'd like to knock two birds down with one stone- grab a Squale 1545 and a Pepsi bezel watch at the same time.
Hi guys ! I thought maybe we can start a thread on cool watch exhibition casebacks ! I will start with mine (it is my only one thus far). Nothing special on my Red Star watch but I dig it, it’s a sapphire glass in both format and back, simple but very accurate movement for a watch of that class. Let me know what you have !
My WristCheck for today is the Undone BaseCamp! Originally I had planned to pickup the Undone Type XX but decided against it and picked up a super sweet BaseCamp.
I’ve seen vintage watches over the years that sported this exact look and style but the price tag (and risk) was too high. Undone did a great job of capturing the retro look that I’ve always wanted.
That black sterile bezel, super bright orange hour hand, retro beige lume, and olive NATO simply sings!
....I’m in love with this look!

Today’s wrist-check is my Orient Capital Version 2. My wife bought this for me a few months ago as a spur of the moment gift. Like the Orient Bambino line of watches, this watch is a very affordable alternative when looking for a stylish dress watch. With a case size of 40.5mm it wares nicely, not too flashy, and its thin size allows it to slip under the cuff with ease. The black dial has a bit of grey in it, just enough to give it an almost aged look next to the muted white numerals. I’m not a big fan of roman numerals but the hight (or length) of these printed numerals distracts nicely as they almost appear as regular baton-like hour markers at first glance. Also, the added touch of the black background behind the white numbers in the date window is awesome! You can’t truly appreciate that black-out look of a date window by viewing pictures, you have to see it with your own eyes. My plans of owning a Bambino is still alive as it remains on my short list of dress watches to buy in...
The Magic Powers of Mechanical Movement (10 steps)
One of the mysteries of all times, is time it's self. Not only exists in present but also through the past and to the future.
Time: A component quantity of various measurements used to sequence events, to compare the duration of events and to quantify rates in material reality or the conscious experience.
The indefinite continued progress of existence. Time is often referred to as a fourth dimension.
Timepiece is an instrument used to measure, keep, and indicate time. One of the oldest human inventions, meeting the need to measure intervals of time shorter than the natural units: the day, the lunar month, and the year. A mechanical watch is a timepiece that uses a clockwork mechanism to measure the passage of time.
Mainspring is a spiral flexible, elastic metal ribbon that stores mechanical energy when it is twisted.
A mechanical watch is driven by a mainspring which must be wound either periodically by hand or via an automatic winding mechanism.
