Custom tax and IOSS

more_vert
Hello, I wanted to buy keycaps that cost $79, I live in Italy, and I read that there is a law called IOSS that should not charge customs fees. From what I understand, products priced under 150 EUR should fall under this law. Basically, it should be enough to pay the VAT. However, I am not sure about this, I would like to know if those who live in the EU and bought a product after July 1, 2021 had to pay customs taxes. Thank you

I'm in the U.K. (so, no longer EU) and there is a VAT and import exemption for anything £135 and under, which seems pretty close to €150 in terms of value. Here's a link to the U.K. one; I'm sure there's a similar page on the Italian government website: https://www.gov.uk/goods-sent-from-abroad/tax-and-duty From my personal experience, any order around $100 has gone through fine without any import tax (DHL shipping status goes from ARRIVED AT CUSTOMS to CLEARED CUSTOMS in about an hour usually). I had one order I had to pay import charges on, but that was over $200 so I was expecting that.
