Pretty disappointing as a first time customer as well. What confuses me is I had two items in my order which were both showing as in-stock at the time. One item gets shipped out on time but the other hasn't which had one delay. It still shows my Estimated ship date as Dec 23rd for the second item on the Order page. Now that second item on the product page shows end of Feb if you order now. I don't mind waiting, just want transparency.
