3.5 is a compact and widely used analog connection. You can also easily use a 3.5mm to RCA cable (I have a nice one from Wireworld), or use Bluetooth.

No, the Magni 3 is unbalanced, outputs 2x RCA (one per channel) and a 6mm headphone out. My main power amp is a Schiit Mjolnir 2 which has 2x XLR3 (and an XLR4 for headphones) in addition to RCA in/out and a 6mm jack but that's well beyond what the average person likely needs! OK, if an RCA-3.5mm cable comes with it (or at least is readily available) that makes these a much better value proposition, cheers. I like the headset passthrough, that might make these a perfect fit for sim-racing and flight-sim setups! (Speakers when racing, jack in a headset for flying with VATSIM or similar) Since the connector cable is proprietary it would be awesome if that were available in different lengths - for example with my current desk setup I'd need an 8-foot cable to connect between my monitors, and I'm sure people would appreciate the extra flexibility - Drop could sell different lengths of cable for an upcharge for those who need it.
RiehlWoahā€¦ how big are your monitors that you have an 8 foot wide desk?? Plus flight-sim, racing sim? Do you have like a cockpit setup? It would be awesome to see a pic of your setup! I do believe both ends of the speaker to speaker cable can be disconnected, but another possible solution could be placing the speakers horizontally, perhaps even mounting them under your monitors since each one weights between 13-14 ounces.

The headset passthrough with mic function is supported, but the Magni does not support mic passthrough. I believe the BMR1 is coming with a cable with 3.5mm TRRS male tips on both sidesā€¦ TRRS is Tip-Ring-Ring-Sleeve, basically four segments for ground, left channel, right channel, and microphone, just like the ā€œcombo jacksā€ you would see on a smartphone, tablet, or laptop (or dongle made for mobile devices, like the Apple USB-C). It ought to work with a headphone jack if you donā€™t have a headset jack, and the headphone passthrough will work too, but you only get microphone passthrough to a headset if your source has that ā€œcomboā€ headset jack. By the way, here is the RCA - to - 3.5mm cable I useā€¦ itā€™s very good quality (though not a high-end cable): https://wireworldcable.com/products/pulse-mini-jack-cable Other RCA to 3.5mm cables exist, you have plenty of options if you search! I bought an RCA to 6.5mm cable here on Drop last yearā€¦ itā€™s a nice cable, but I have to admit I havenā€™t found a use for it yet šŸ¤£ Donā€™t forget, the BMR1 also supports Bluetooth. If you donā€™t have the right cable or ports on your audio source, Bluetooth might be a viable or simpler solution as well. Bluetooth today is much better than we give it credit for! However, Iā€™m still trying to find out if the mic passthrough works with a Bluetooth sourceā€¦ from my gaming experience, I know the sound quality would take a step back while using a microphone over Bluetooth, but it could still be helpful in a pinch. Regardless, thank you for your questions, and prompting me to think of solutions that might help you and other people šŸ˜ƒ
